Positive Solutions for Families
In this 3 part series parents will learn how to promote children’s social and emotional skills; understand their children’s challenging behavior; use key strategies to address the behaviors; and implement positive approaches to help children learn appropriate behavior. This program promotes the social emotional development and school readiness of young children birth to age 5, but the skills learned apply to ages through elementary school. Positive Discipline: Mutual Respect and Problem‐Solving
After decades of research focused on boasting a child’s self‐esteem to maximize success, the focus has now turned to developing a child’s selfcontrol and self‐discipline. How do we foster self‐control and self‐discipline in the home? This session defines discipline from a positive perspective, introduces strategies to build mutual respect between parents and children, and includes active problem‐solving strategies. Share ideas with other parents and develop a personalized family plan. It is also free for parents!!

Common Core: What Parents Need to Know
This overview intended for parents with children with disabilities will provide an overview of the Common Core State Standards (CCSS), resources that may be helpful in learning more about the standards and practices, as well as ways we can work together to encourage and foster positive learning environments through this transition. Hands‐on activities and videos will be presented for parents as part of the learning process. It is also free for parents!!
